Volkswagen Beetle, which was originally called Kafer.
Hitler was responsible for giving the order for the Volkswagen to be produced in 1933.
The Volkswagen Beetle was started by Hitler to be 'The People's Car'. Looking at the way it has changed over the years and the fondness people have for the cute car; would stand to prove Hitler's goal was actually reached.
A Stuttgart based design company, owned and run by Ferdinand Porsche, in April 1934 was given the important task of designing this special car within 10 months.
The price was to be kept as low as possibly, in order to make the car affordable to the masses.
In 1937, the Volkswagenwerk GmbH was created. Volkswagen literally means "car of the people".
In the 1930s, Hitler had forced all Germans to enroll in the German Labor Front, and made them pay membership dues. 10% of those dues went to a branch of the front called "Strength Through Joy," or "Kraft dutch Freude." The branch was in charge of recreation and sports. In Hitler's view, that covered motoring, so funds from Strength Through Joy (KdF) were funneled to build an automobile plant.
At the meeting Hitler was very optimistic but had a few demands before being willing to sign a contract. These were: The car should be able to carry two adults and three children. It should have a cruising speed of 100 km/h. The fuel consumption should not exceed 0,8 liter per 10 km. The engine had to be air cooled. The car should also be able to carry three soldiers and a machine gun!! The price should be less than 1.000 RM.
1955, August 20. 1 million cars produced.
1981, May 15. The 20 millionth bug rolls off the assembly line in South America.
In Mad Men they talked about the Volkswagen Bug Ad for 15 minutes. They mentioned how honest Volkswagen was being about the car being a lemon. In the episode the men mentioned that they didn’t know if they should make fun of Volkswagen for their ad or if they should laugh at the car itself, because it was so small and ridiculous. They did not understand why people were being the car but I think they realized that because Volkswagen was so honest and left their ad layout design so simple that people were buying it. The Volkswagen Beetle was also very affordable to everyone. Volkswagen didn’t need a overly done up ad that distracted the customer from the ad. The simplicity of the ad allowed to actually read what was written on the ad itself. You were able to make a decision on the car just buy looking at the ad. Volkswagen wasn’t trying to hide anything and I think that may be the reason Drapper and the other men were able to have a 15 minute conversation on one car ad. They weren’t sure if they liked it at first because it was different than what they were used to.
McDonald's could definetely sell a $10 burger, all that they would need is value. Premium ground beef, the very best and freshest of lettuce, onion, and tomatoes, would add value to a burger. Buns that are fluffy and big would show everyone that this burger is really worth $10. Customer's are the one's who price what is on the menu. The better the burger looks and the better it tastes will keep customer's coming back for more. A burger that is full of hamburger, maybe half a pound would get men all around America crawling to Mcdonald's to try this new 1/2 pound hamburger, with fresh vegetables and value oozing out of this burger.
It was difficult to find a perfume that was as simple and natural as mine, however I found perfumes that have the same notes in them as mine does. I found the simplest perfumes that I could find and they would most likely be mine competition.
The first is N°9 BLACKBERRY & VANILLA by TRISH MCENVOY. Mouthwatering, magnetic, Trish's No 9 Blackberry & Vanilla Musk is an irresistible blend of caramelized blackberries and vanilla infused with the warm aromas of musk and white rose
Woody floral. L’Instant Magic is a light, soft perfume, a mist that caresses with a trail of flowers on a bed of wood and musk. After the bergamot top notes, the fragrance reveals a musky floral with notes of freshness (rose, freesia). A trail of white musks worked as a ‘muscinade’ (a nod to the celebrated Guerlinade) is warmed by wood and a touch of almond.
Elegance, sensuality, subtlety, feminine influence. Inspired by an oriental love story, Shalimar is the dazzling essence of a woman who is endlessly desirable and forever desired. Like her, Shalimar is at once sublime and intimate. Suave and luscious, this elegantly sensual and undeniably attractive perfume expresses itself in multiple and astonishing facets depending on the moment, the skin or the hour. Shalimar is the essence of femininity. Like all legendary elixirs, it springs from the basin of a magic fountain. The curves of the bottle evoke a gentle roundness while the transparent blue stopper recalls the eternal water fountains of the gardens of Shalimar. Inside the clear glass bottle emblazoned in gold, the mythic perfume glistens with a secret flame. http://www.guerlain.com/int/en/base.html#/en/home-parfum/catalogue-parfums/women-fragrances/women-fragrances-range-shalimar/shalimar-eau-de-parfum-2.html

I like soup, but there are some soups that are better than others. I really like vegetable soup, for the chucky potato pieces and the vegetable broth. I like it because it is chunky and has many different flavors in it. Anytime I go into a restaurant I usually try to get vegetable soup. The vegetable taste fresh and they are soft. I like the taste of the broth and the way it slides down my throat with a rich taste of vegetable in it. I really like vegetables so the soup hits my taste buds like an explosion. The vegetable beef is also good as well, it’s just like vegetable soup but has bits of beef in it. The beef adds some flavor into the soup and just gives a little kick into your soup than just having vegetables in it. It also adds some extra protein into your meal. Chunky soups are better in my opinion due to the texture and the new flavors you receive from each bite you take.
If I were to come up with a new Campbell’s soup, I would suggest a cheddar potato and bacon soup. It would almost be like a baked potato. It would be exceptionally cheesy, with big chunks of potato and pieces of salty bacon. If you would like the more baked potato feel you could add sour cream on top of your soup. The soup would be thick with tons of texture and be absolutely delicious. A baked potato reminds me of a home cooked meal and is a comfort food for me as me as well as many others. It would be great addition to any kitchen pantry.
The commercials are the best part of the Super Bowl. The Dockers Pants commercial really caught my eye because all you see are men walking around in a field wearing no pants. While singing “Pants, Pants” I thought it was so funny and couldn’t stop singing “Pants, Pants” for at least an hour after the commercial. I thought it was a great way to get people’s attention by stating off a commercial with half naked men singing about pants. A certain Doritos commercial also got my attention. It was the commercial where a creepy guy comes to pick up his date who just happens to be a mom. The guy thinks he is so cool and gets a real reality check when the little boy slaps him for taking one of his Doritos. My favorite part is when the little boy says, “Put it back,” then goes to say, “Don’t touch my momma and don’t touch my Doritos.” The Doritos commercials are always funny but I think this one may have topped the charts in my book. I also really liked the Dove Mens commercial. I thought it was great and although some people did not like the commercial I thought it really caught with a guy growing up with different stages of his life. It was fascinating how at the end it implies that you have lived most of your life getting where you are now, you deserve to live in a skin that you are comfortable in. I liked the song that went through the commercial and it ends in “Because you’re a man.” My favorite part of the whole commercial though was the part when it says having kids that look just like you and three heads pop up while in the bath tub and they are exact replicas of the main guy. That part made me laugh and was probably the part that made me remember that commercial.
I really like the show Mad Men. It kept me very interested and I think it taught me a little about the advertising world. It was interesting to see the development and struggle the main character had in order to discover and idea on how to sell their particular brand of cigarettes. I learned a little bit about how sometimes a marketing plan can be the opposite of what you want but can help for you to get to where you want to go. In the clip that we saw all of their marketing planning were completely going in the other direction and would not help them sell their cigarettes. Near the end of the clip he finally figured out how to sell his cigarettes by making the customer’s happiness come first and to find a new way to sell their cigarettes without making the customer’s automatically think of cancer when they think of cigarettes. Customer happiness should always be brought into consideration. It is the best way to get your product to sell, you must appeal to your customer.
My favorite Superbowl commercial is by Coca-Cola, it is titled Happiness Factory. I like that it’s pretty much all fantasy. It shows your bottle of coke that you get from the vending machine is magical. Every bottle is made with love and creativity and everyone loves Coca-Cola. I love that the commercial takes you on an adventure while the coke is being put together and in the vending machine and really makes you want to go to a vending machine to get yourself a coke just to wonder if your bottle of coke is being made the exact same way. I think it is effective because it is so creative that everyone is going to want to stop and watch the commercial. This commercial appeals to everyone, kids love the fantasy and will want to get a coke in hopes that their coke is being made just like on TV. Adults know if they like coke or not but the creativity of the commercial makes you respect Coca-Cola for their willingness to try something new that hasn’t been done before. I also find the creativity and fantasy of the commercial very appealing. I love watching it and would love to watch it many more times to come. I hope Coca-Cola continues on with the ideas and stays along the same process, for a little while at least.
I had a hard time thinking of a time when I had great customer service. Nothing came off the top of my head, but I do know I have had some. Then it came to me, it just hit me. One day my mom took my sister and I to the mall so that I could get a sweater or something because it was getting cold out. We happened to go into Forever 21. I saw all these necklaces that I “just had to have.” My mom felt that she was going to spoil me that day cause she got me just about every necklace I wanted, and there were a lot. So moving on we walked up to the checkout line and my stupid self, just dropped all of the necklaces onto the counter. They got all tangled together into a giant ball of fake silver and gold paint. Yeah that’s right they weren’t the expensive stuff. It took forever to get them untangled but the checkout guy who was helping us untangle them didn’t seem upset at all. In fact we were all laughing at what I did, trying to untangle them without ripping them in half before I got to pay for them. I think I was expecting for him to be annoyed or to tell us that we need to go somewhere else to untangle them because we were holding up the line. Instead he was joking around with us and laughing. I don’t think most people would have done that and I really appreciated it. I think he was just a nice person and wanted to get a nice laugh in before his work day got boring and busy again. I remember this day because the day was just fantastic and it’s nice to make someone laugh to cheer them up when they are feeling low or bored, even for a couple of minutes.
I am a Gen Yer. Born in 1990 and I agree with what they say about Gen Yers. I believe I fit in, if not all the categories, I fit in most. It says that researchers have found Gen Yers to be impatient. If I want something I want it to be available to me right away or within the month, especially since my interests are almost always changing. I want it while I still have an interest in it. I believe I am very family-oriented, I love spending time with family and I really liked my childhood, wishing sometimes that I could go back to my time in elementary school. It was one of the best times of my life, at least that’s what I think. I may be a little iffy on the inquisitive part, of course people are curious but as long as it works I really don’t care how. I believe I am opinionated, I like people to know how I feel about something and I like to share my ideas sometimes. If I am able to give an opinion I probably will give it. Being diverse may be something that I am. I can strike up a conversation or friendship with anyone if I want to. I really don’t care what people look like or who their family is. I like to have a somewhat plan of what I am going to do so I may be a good time manager, but I am a really bad procrastinator. Street smart? Hmm maybe, I’m not really sure about that one. I have a myspace and facebook, so I would say yes to being connected. Well that’s it, researchers have really hit things right on the money, for the most part anyway.
When I was child my favorite fast food restaurant was McDonald's. I didn’t usually get fast food but when I did it was McDonald's. I always got a cheeseburger kids meal. The toy was always my favorite part for two reasons; the first because we got a new toy every time we went out to get food, but also the mystery of never knowing what we would get in our kids meal. There was also the part of disappointment when you didn’t get the toy you had been hoping for. I was still happy of course, I mean I did get a toy.
To me photography is not just pictures or images. They should make you think about the world, allow you to feel what the subject is feeling, put you in that place and time and hope to understand. My subjects never see it coming. My candid shots are funny, happy, sad, depressing and may even make you angry. I just hope that you find them as fascinating as I do. My junior year of high school photography jumped into my life. I knew photography was for me when I picked up that camera and went out to find something amazing to photograph. I always found myself trying to get pictures of my friends and family while they weren’t paying attention and were just being themselves. So now I find myself drawn to street photography. People walking down the street have no idea what I am taking a picture of, they have no idea that they are the subject of my photos. They might not know that they make the funniest faces while they talk, but I capture it.
